I’ve been thinking about what to call these recurring outfit posts and I’ve landed on Outfitted. It feels straightforward and easy to remember. So, welcome to the very first instalment.
Let’s start things off with some summer inspo, seeing as June is right around the corner and summer is properly setting in (or at least pretending to, depending on the day). I’m slowly shifting my wardrobe into floatier territory, gradually mixing in maxis and flip-flops here and there. I’m also making a few seasonal swaps, naturally. Blazers aren’t going anywhere, but it’s time to trade structured wool for something lighter like linen or cotton.
So here it is: an edit of everyday outfits I want to emulate this summer. Pieces I’d actually wear, combinations I’m itching to try, and the overall aesthetic I’m leaning toward as the temperature climbs. I hope this gives you a few ideas for the upcoming months!

There’s nothing like a Dôen skirt — floaty, romantic and the epitome of summer. I would literally live in this skirt all summer long. To balance out the voluminous shape on the bottom, add a fitted tank on top. You could always throw on a suede jacket if it’s not quite warm enough yet to match the suede boat shoes.

Just because it’s summer doesn’t mean we have to ditch our beloved black ensembles. I see it as a semi-smart office type outfit, if you were to swap the flip-flops for black heeled sandals, but otherwise I see it being an easy lunch look. You could keep it simple as is, or dial it up with earrings, but a single sleek watch feels elegant and refined.

We love a one-and-done outfit. To me, shirt dresses are the chicest of all white maxi dresses. Make sure to undo the top buttons so the collar is loose and relaxed, also, roll the sleeves up, always roll the sleeves! With long blocky silhouettes like this, it’s important to add ‘break points’ so your overall look feels more dimensional. That, combined with a pair of heels, chunky jewellery and oversized sunglasses, is the perfect recipe for an effortlessly cool summer look.

I think it’s safe to say after the long shorts bug took over in me last year, you may very well never see me in a pair of short shorts again…like ever. There’s just something about the tomboyish attitude of long shorts that feels so chic. Paired with the leather jacket, it should feel edgy, but instead it’s pulled back by the beachy raffia bag and mesh shoe. A dose of stripes doesn’t go amiss either — a good way to break things up.

I love when basics like a white tee have a little twist to them (see what I did there ;)). But really, details like asymmetry, knots or twists are such an easy but effective way to jazz up those basics. Even if you don’t buy them like that, there are ways you could DIY it. Also, the combo of red + beige never fails; it provides just the right balance. Also, I desperately need these Christopher Esber mesh shoes in every shade, like now.
Hope you have a great week ahead!
Til next time,
Sophie xx
