Don’t mind me doing an internal happy dance that spring is very much approaching. The mood is: skirts, suede and stripes. To get us in the mood for a change in season, here’s some outfits I’ve been planning as of late…
01

I have a feeling this spring/summer will be filled with stripes…lots of stripes. Starting off with this Vince polo sweater, it could be styled in a million and one ways, which is exactly why I love it. Wide leg jeans and Bally’s boat shoes give it a casual feel, giving off a very Miu Miu vibe. Layer with Anine Bing’s bomber jacket in this sandy shade and Jacquemus’ Chiquito bag.
02

Dust off the trench coat, it’s about time this hero piece made a comeback! Nour Hanmour gives us a fresh take on the classic style with this beautiful burgundy shade in smooth leather. A piece like this can feel dramatic (or matrixy), so balance things out with a casual base: a simple grey tank top and wide-leg jeans. Finish the look off with mesh shoes and a suede bag from Métier.
03
Ganni’s cheetah print jacket has definitely been on my mind lately. Add a playful twist with Alaïa’s peplum tee and use white jeans to balance out the print. Complete the look with Aquazzura’s two-tone heels for a classic touch and Alaïa’s iconic Le Teckel bag.
04
Ah, nothing signals spring like a fresh blue shirt. To create a smart-casual everyday look you can wear to lunch/shopping, add a polished navy blazer — something that comes in super handy for instantly smartening up any look — and a pair of casual blue jeans. Finish the outfit with Prada’s Bonnie bag in suede and a pair of Adidas sneakers for effortless cool.
05

Obsessed with this Dolce & Gabbana dress, I can imagine wearing it to afternoon tea with friends or even a wedding. The pink lace is uber-feminine while the suede barn jacket and zebra print heels provide a striking contrast. This mixture of elegance and modernity creates a unique, effortlessly cool and very spring-like look.
06

Tweed jackets are the epitome of spring to me. Honestly, if I could, I’d have one in every colour and style. This black and white iteration from Valentino feels classic but not old-fashioned. Mix in a casual element such as jeans but maintain the polished feel with a pair of pointed heels. Complete the look with Bottega Veneta’s Ciao Ciao bag in deep burgundy for a rich touch.
07

Thank goodness skirts (without tights) are soon-to-be back on the agenda. I recently got a denim vest and was trying to figure out other ways to style it apart from double denim, so when I saw this Zimmermann skirt, I knew it would be perfect! Pair with a leather jacket for added edge and finish the look with Miu Miu’s boat shoes.
08

Dreaming of when shorts can make a comeback…but for now, I’ll be busy outfit planning. I love the combination of a shorter piece underneath a longer piece such as with this Saint Laurent trench coat layered over these Dries Van Noten leather shorts. The crochet sweater is perfect for heading into warmer weather and works great with the camel and khaki colour palette.
Hopefully these outfits help to inspire your spring wardrobe!
Til next time,
Sophie xx

How to Build a Jewellery Wardrobe
I don’t know about you, but for me, an outfit never feels truly finished until I throw on some jewellery. It’s like the cherry on top of a great outfit. One thing I’ve learnt is to never underestimate the power of jewellery, no matter if it’s delicate dainty chains or chunky pearls, the right piece can add that finishing touch that transforms an outfit …
